TPC’s community-based Funded Partners that selected the Tobacco Free Families indicator are to train organizations serving populations most impacted by tobacco on the Breathe: Healthy Steps to Living Tobacco Free education program.
Breathe is ideal to be used with Head Start centers and other organizations serving families with low-incomes. By training staff at these organizations on Breathe, the staff will be empowered to educate and motivate parents/caregivers on the dangers of secondhand and thirdhand smoke, the health and financial burden of tobacco use, and resources available to quit smoking. Grant agreements with TPC and Community-Based Funded Partners support deliverables related to working with Head Start centers and other organizations in local communities.
