The Importance of Relationship Building

The Importance of Relationship Building

TPC has been working with Indiana Head Start centers and similar partners focused on families with low incomes for over 10 years, and many meaningful partnerships have been created. But there is potential to do so much more and expand our reach throughout the state with Breathe!

While the cornerstone of Breathe is the staff training, this program will not be successful simply by implementing one training for your Head Start center or other partner organizations. The real foundation of Breathe is the on-going relationship you build with the leadership and staff in these organizations. This will require identifying and cultivating a relationship with the organization’s leadership, developing rapport with the staff, being available as questions arise, and making regular contact to keep the issue of tobacco on their radar.

Whether you are starting from scratch to build a relationship with a Breathe partner or are working to maintain and even expand a partnership, the resources below can guide you in that process.
