There is no ‘safe’ amount of smoking, vaping, or second or thirdhand smoke/vapor during pregnancy. Tobacco use during pregnancy is harmful to both the mom and the growing baby. Using tobacco during pregnancy may damage the placenta, which may affect how much oxygen the baby is getting. Pre-term labor, miscarriage, and a variety of health problems once the baby is born may also occur.
